Financial Goals for 2019

A look back at 2018

Before going forward and making my 2019 goals. I need to take a moment and be thankful for the things I accomplished, which are:

1-   I paid off my three credit cards (Capital One, Bank of America and BJs) which was a total of $6,000 left.

2-   I started an emergency fund in a separate account and now have $2000 in it.

3-   I paid all my bills on time!

4-   I paid for my gym membership fully for the year at the beginning of the year and I have used my membership throughout the year.

2019 goals

A new year is about to start and here is what I will be working on.
I will get rid of my loan faster than my anticipated finish date.
I will keep my car clean with professional help (car wash).
I will take care of my hair by having my hairdresser wash and braid it once a month and I will take care of my body by working out with my personal trainer once a week (and I will work out by myself twice a week).

1-   Loan: I have a $35,000 loan that I took out to pay the difference of my house that sold at a loss. On a positive note, I no longer have a house hanging on my neck but the negative is I have a $35,000 loan to deal with. I pay $750.73 a month and if I stay on that course I will finish paying off my loan in 4 years. – For 2019, my goal is to make an additional payment of $249.27 a month towards the loan. That will be a total of $1000.00 I will pay per month and the length of time I will take to pay it off will decrease by about 11 months.

$35,000/$750.73 = 46.62 months = 3 years, 10 months

$35,000/$1000.00 = 35 months = 2 years, 11 months

2-   Car wash: I will take my car to the car wash once every two months; which is $29.80 each time and a total of $178.80 for the year.

($29.80)(6 months) = $178.80 for the year

3-   Hair care: I will get my hair washed and braided by my hairdresser once a month; which is $60 plus a tip of $15 and a total of $900 for the year.

($75)(12 months) = $900 for the year

4-   Personal training: I will continue working out with my personal trainer once a week; which is $60 per session, $240 a month and a total of $2880 for the year.
